#Pullupachair & #Pullupachairparents

The UKRI Policy Support Fund 2021/2022 and the UoS Interdisciplinary Research Network on Adverse Childhood Experiences have both funded Sarah's project, #SeeMe #pullupachair, and the University of Sunderland has provided me with the opportunity to produce video content for the entire endeavour. 130 children aged 5 to 16 took part in this remarkable project's creative arts initiative, which was led by four local artists. 68 of these students publicly shared their thoughts on the subject of school exclusion. The UoS Interdisciplinary Research Network on Adverse Childhood Experiences 2021–2022, which funded a separate group of 28 children aged 5 to 16 who had previously experienced school exclusion, made a significant contribution to this priceless resource.

Furthermore, eight #pullupachairparents from two alternative provision schools actively participated as part of the series, #pullupachairparents, a major contribution to the project. Over the course of ten days, these parents used creative arts approaches to reflect on and explore their experiences while supporting their children during and after school exclusion. Notably, they co-created, scripted, and performed eight films with Sarah's and Ruth's guidance and assistance. These videos have the potential to spark local and national debates aimed at fundamentally altering the educational system.
